  • 4.0 out of 5 stars from JL PopulistTop Contributor: Guitars -- Frampton Takes The World. : I can remember when "Frampton was Comes Alive" hit the airwaves. It was extremely popular. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2020 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Sue Ellen Browm -- Hard Won Victories : This is the nicest guy in the music business. Even when a musician fails him at a gig, Frampton pulls it together. And when his several managers pimp him, he finally wakes up. Unbeknownst to Frampton, he and I met in 1975 in Ann Arbor. I was working at a bank and processed a Cashier!s Cheque for his nibs. I was very young and blonde and cute and fully expected him to mentioned in his book. Alas, I served only to be a catalyst. Given my educational trajectory, I would gladly have used forensic accounting to sniff out the bad guys. Frampton is such a nice guy that issues were ignored. Regardless, Frampton has been blessed by the angels . These days Frampton is inconvenienced by Inclusion Body Myositis. As long as you can give us one note, we Weill be the screaming fans from the ‘70’s. If you learn anything from this book it will be respect: respect for the musician, respect for his hard won victories. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2020 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from A.L.E. -- Do You Feel Like I Do? : Peter Frampton gives a tour of his life, letting you back stage. I was impressed with his descriptions of other musicians. Also, I enjoyed the lack of obscenity. A very insightful look at the beginning of rock as we now know it! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2020 )
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars from Robert Wilkinson -- A tale of two books : I was torn between givin this read three or four stars...After a few obligatory chapters about his childhood, i was ready for the good stuff...the years from the herd to humble pie to you know...frampton comes alive...and everything up to 1982 thereafter...After that i was back to obligatory readin about the rest of his career and personal life...the live album...a blessin and a curse...the book peaks there and slowly tales off afterwards...sorry...just bein honest...I feel if the first quarter and last quarter of this book were left out...this would have been a blast...its worth the read just for the humble pie and alive period.... • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Pmdrummer -- A Must Have For Rock Fans! : A well written book on the ups and downs of Frampton's life. From his humble beginnings and friendships with David Bowie and members of the Beatles and the Stones, his role in Humble Pie, and then to the top of the rock world with Frampton Comes Alive. Peter's stories are real. If you are a Frampton fan like I am this book is a must have! Through his various stages, the book touches on all subjects and even if less than flattering, his sense of humor sustains. He is a big player in rock history! Read it! • 3.0 out of 5 stars from Reader -- Too long by at least half. : I’ve read a lot of these biographies. The story of the early days up until Frampton Comes alive is well worth the read. But, like many books of this genre, it’s hard to relate to a large swaths of the book which go something like this, “I met up with (famous person), we did (this cool thing), he/she is a great friend and we still talk to this day. Repeat 1,000 times. If you want to know Frampton’s entire life, this tome delivers. The best books I have read always have an epiphany in the end about discovering the God who created us creative people in the first place. Some people find Him along the way. Some don’t. Not a personal judgement against Frampton, who seems to be a decent person, but the whole point of life is to find the author of life who generally hides himself from us for most of it and then reveals himself to us, usually in our most difficult moment. I hope Frampton’s story has yet another chapter to it with that happy ending. ( Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2020 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kindle Customer -- Really enjoyable and interesting : I really enjoyed this book. It was like having a conversation with Peter Frampton! I feel honored that he has shared his story. ( Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2021 )
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars from suntan -- A bit disappointing : So much boring detail right off the bat that I only got thru a chapter before calling it a day. I love Frampton to this day, he's one of the most accomplished musicians on the planet. Perhaps I'll read more at some point. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2020 )
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars from Julie Arundel -- Not good : I love Peter Frampton and we were going to see him play live in May this year but it was cancelled because of covid so I did the next best thing and ordered this book, so far it hasn't been as good as I thought it would be it is badly written and I am skipping through some of it because its boring me, it could have been edited better and some things could have been left out , it reads very amateurish and its like Peter Frampton has written down what was in his head and the publisher has left it at that. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 2, 2020 )
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars from Peejay -- Great guitarist but book is a bit dull : I bought FCA in 1976 and have always loved Peter Frampton's guitar playing (his lyrics are bit cheesy sometimes), but I found this book a bit of a disappointment. His band from FCA doesn't really get much of a mention but it was they who also made the album such a success. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 17, 2020 )
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars from LL Customer -- If you're British, a bit irritating to read : Written for Americans. Interesting, but no well written. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 7, 2020 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Bill -- Full Life and Career right up to Covid : Very interesting life and career story and very honest about shortfalls in finance management, and later health problems. There are a few historical details not quite correct, for instance The Hollies were not on the 1968 Kinks tour, but the aside its a really in depth behind the scenes history. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 2, 2021 )
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars from glenn hinton -- fantastic person awesome guitarist singer/song writer/performer : I think peter framton is an awesome guitarist and what I've seen of him in interviews he comes across as a very genuine person ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 13, 2020 )
